This specimen was part of lot 44278 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (3) 1/4 Decimos, 1869, 1870, & 1871. Various Mints. EF-40, EF-45 (2) (PCGS). 3 pieces in lot. 1869-Bogota PCGS EF-40, KM-143.1a, Restrepo-246.8, fully detailed with charcoal toning, 1870-Popayan PCGS EF-45, full details with light toning, and 1871-Bogota PCGS EF-45, KM-143.1a, Restrepo-246.10, well centered, lightly toned and attractive. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This coin is a quarter décimo, or 1/40 of a peso (a quarter real is 1/32 of a peso); this denomination was struck at Bogotá 1868-71 and 1881 and Popayán (shown here) 1868-81. None are common, particularly in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 0.85 g, .666 fine silver.
