This specimen was lot 12283 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $6,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1870 20 Pesos. Bogotá mint. MS-61 (PCGS). Rich yellow gold with exceptionally choice surfaces for this grade, or for a grade higher. An absolutely beautiful specimen, well struck and smooth, with just a couple trivial digs under the chin. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins. From Heiner Stücker, Zürich, August 1970." This type was struck at Bogotá 1862-77, Medellin 1867-72 and Popayán 1863-78. Despite the steady issue, the type is rare and expensive.
