This specimen was lot 30652 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "Estados Unidos gold 20 Pesos 1869-MEDELLIN XF45 NGC, Medellin mint. Moderately circulated with the addition of attractive blended mauve and orange-gold patina around much of the obverse and reverse legends." This type was struck at Bogotá 1862-77, Medellin 1867-72 and Popayán 1863-78. Despite the steady issue, the type is rare and expensive.
