CNG Lissner sale, lot 1470

This specimen was lot 1470 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,028.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA, Republica de Nueva Granada. 1830-1859. AR Decimo. Bogotá mint. Dated 1857. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 63. A superb gem BU. Fully frosted and full luster with wonderful strike. The only coin of this date ever certified and virtually unimprovable. Purchased from Freeman Craig, June 1973." This type is listed for 1853-58 from Bogotá only. It is priced rather low in the SCWC but is seldom seen in decent condition.
