This specimen was lot 44189 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1/4 Real, 1851. Popayan Mint. VF Detail--Environmental Damage (PCGS). Full details on devices and most of peripheral areas despite dark encrustation. Date clear. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck at Popayan 1849-58. The previous cornucopia obverse (KM 90.2) was superseded by this pomegranate obverse (KM 108.2).

Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.

Specification: 0.90 g, .900 fine silver.
