This specimen was lot 44151 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1/2 Real, 1845-UE. Popayan Mint. FINE-15 (PCGS). Restrepo lists as 'rare'. Crudely struck with most details clear. Gray toned. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck at Bogotá and Popayan 1838-48.
