This type was struck 1823-36 at Popayán and 1823-25 at Bogotá. This type is fairly common. This specimen was lot 22406 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Escudo, 1830-RU. Popayan Mint. PCGS VF-25 Secure Holder. Even wear."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
