This specimen was part of lot 44480 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (4) Reales, 1928-31. A quartet of collectible Popayán 1 Reales, all encapsulated by: 1828-RU. F-15; 1828-MF. Restrepo 154.5. F-15; 1830/29-RU. Restrepo 154.11. EF Detail, cleaned; 1831-RU. Restrepo 154.14. F-15. (Total 4 pieces). From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This one real was struck at Bogotá and Popayán 1826-36 while the country was the "Republic of Colombia," which, after many vicissitudes, is again the country name. The type is scarcer than the SCWC indicates.
