This specimen was lot 44082 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1827-FM Escudo. Popayán mint. AU Detail — Cleaned (PCGS). Bright from an old polishing. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Colonial Coins of Houston, April 1970." This type was struck 1823-36 at Popayán. It is somewhat common. Assayer FM is listed for 1822-30.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
