This type was struck 1823-36 at Popayán. It is somewhat common. Assayer FM is listed for 1822-30. This specimen was lot 40327 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1825-FM Escudo. Popayán mint. AU-53 (PCGS). Frosty and natural light yellow gold. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Coen-Messer, October 1970."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, .875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.
