This specimen was lot 40231 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1794-JJ 2 Escudos. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Carlos IV (1788-1808). EF Detail — Damage (PCGS). Light yellow gold with a slightly polished appearance and showing a heavy nick on the portrait's cheek. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Kreditanstalt, Zürich, April 1971." This type was struck 1791-1806 at Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) and Popayán and is common, tho priced slightly higher than the prior type of Charles III.
