This specimen was lot 11345 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1793-JF 4 Escudos. Popayán mint. Carlos IV (1788-1808). AU Detail — Cleaned (PCGS). Pleasing and even light yellow gold with good luster and natural aesthetic appeal, just a few too many hairlines. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins. From Hans M.F. Schulman's sale of June 1972, lot 89." This is the second year for the "standard bust" of Charles IV, used at Popayan 1792-1802.
