This is one of a type struck at the Popayán mint 1773-88 with the "standard bust" of Charles III. Later issues (1785-88) were struck in .875 fine gold. This issue is among the more available two escudos of the colonial period.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, .901 fine gold, .196 troy oz AGW.
