The specimen shown was lot 1004 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $1,955.

The catalog description[1] noted,
"Bogotá, Colombia, bust 1 real, Charles III, 1777JJ, ex-Iriarte, rare. Softly but evenly struck VF with very light toning, no problems, good pedigree. Pedigreed to the Iriarte collection (Aureo auction of March 1998, lot 225). Jorge Ortiz Murias collection of Colombian colonial minors."
The SCWC lists seven dates for Nuevo Reino between 1772-84, all scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .903 fine silver, .098 troy oz ASW, this specimen 3.3 grams.
