This specimen was lot 3693 in Goldberg sale 80 (Los Angeles, June 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Colombia. 8 Escudos, 1770-PN J (Popayán). Charles III, 1759-1788. Draped bust of Ferdinand VI right; name of Charles III in legend. Reverse: Crowned arms, Order of Golden Fleece around. PCGS graded EF-45." This type was struck 1760-71; the bust of Charles III was not adopted until 1772 at Popayán.
