The specimen shown was lot 1212A in Aureo y Calicó sale 232 (Barcelona, March 2011), where it did not sell.

The catalog description[1] noted,
"Carlos II (1665-1700). 1669. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino. PoR. 4 reales. (Cal. falta). Rarísima. (MBC-). (Charles II, 1665-1700, four reales of 1669, Bogotá mint, of the highest rarity, nearly very fine.)
This type was issued from Bogotá intermittently 1666-93 and all dates are listed as "Rare" in the SCWC.

Tho not so noted in the catalog description, this lot has the granular finish often seen in salvaged specimens.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, .931 fine silver, .405 troy oz ASW.
