The specimen shown is one of a type struck in Santiago, Chile, 1867-91. This date is scarce but other dates are plentiful, making this handsome coin easy to add to ones collection of classic South American crowns.
Recorded mintage: 795,000 (mintage includes 1872; the 1871 is priced in the SCWC about triple the common date).
