The specimen shown is one of a type minted in Santiago, Chile, 1834 only. The design, with a erupting volcano, is also found on 1/2 real, two reales and one peso coins of the period. This design is very popular with collectors and brings quite a bit more than the rather low catalog values.

Recorded mintage: 16,000.

Specification: 3.2 g, .903 silver, .092 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 91.
