This specimen was lot 1832 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2019), where it sold for $114.24. The catalog description[1] noted, "Santiago, Chile, 1/2 real, Charles IV, 1808/7FJ. XF with sharp details for a crude type with multiple repunched letters in legends, dark rainbow toning all over." It is one of a series minted 1792-1808 for Charles IV.

Recorded mintage: 58,000 (including KM 64 for Ferdinand VII).

Specification: 1.69 g, .896 fine silver, .048 troy oz ASW, this specimen 1.55 grams.
