This specimen was lot 3787 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description [2] noted, "Chile. 8 Escudos, 1758-J (Santiago). Ferdinand VI, 1746-1760. Small standard bust to right. Reverse: Small crowned Hapsburg arms within chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Mint mark at lower left and assayers' initial at lower right separated by Fleece. NGC graded Extremely Fine, Details (Surface Hairlines)." This type was issued 1758-59 only and is rare.
