Aureo sale 232, lot 1234

The specimen shown was lot 1234 in Aureo y Calico sale 232 (Barcelona, March 2011), where it sold for 27 euros (about $44.55 including buyer's fees).

The catalog description[2] noted,
"Fernando VI (1746-1759). 1755. Barcelona. 1 ardit. MBC+. (Ferdinand VI, 1746-59, ardite of 1755, Barcelona, choice very fine.)
This type not listed in the SCWC. Cayón[1] mentions it as struck in Segovia 1754-55 for Catalonia while the auction catalog[2] claims it for Barcelona. Neither source values it highly. It probably had a face value of about one maravedi.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM unlisted, Cal-700, Cayón-10144.
