This specimen was lot 3375 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada. 50 Dollars, 1997. Mounties. R.C.M.P. Anniversary. One year type struck on a 10-sided planchet. NGC graded MS-68." This odd piece, with its obverse legend "US$310 GUARANTEED BY THE RCM TO JAN. 1st 2000," does not fit with the other one ounce Maple Leafs (Leaves?) minted at the same time. The experiment was not repeated.

Specification: 31.10 g, .999 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
