This specimen was lot 1952 in Goldberg sale 110 (Los Angeles, June 2019), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada. 100 Dollars, 1987. Elizabeth II. Reverse: Torch and logo. Calgary 1988 Olympic games. Choice Brilliant Proof." Gold one hundred dollar gold coins were struck to this standard 1976-86, each year with a different subject. The weight and fineness were reduced to the module shown here in 1987 and commemoratives were struck to that standard until 2000. All are priced the same in the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: 142,750, all proofs.

Specification: 13.34 g, .583 fine gold, .248 troy oz AGW.
