This specimen was lot 26316 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $223.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth II 25 Cents 1973 Large Bust, PL65 ICCS, scarce variety of this centennial anniversary type with a larger bust of Elizabeth II. From The Nikita Collection." Silver was removed from the quarter in 1968. This type, issued in 1973 to mark the centennial of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, was issued in large quantities and is common. This specimen is a rare variety with 132 beads on the obverse instead of the usual 120.

Recorded mintage: 134,958,587 (all varieties).

Specification: 5.06 g, nickel, reeded edge, 23.8 mm diameter.
