This specimen was lot 50362 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $118. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Dollar, 1965. PCGS PL-66. Large beads. Blunt 5." This date was struck in numerous varieties (large, medium and small beads; blunt and pointed '5') but despite the strenuous efforts of promoters, only the medium beads brings any significant premium. As silver coinage ended in 1967, this coin was massively hoarded and is available by the bag.

Specification: 23.32 g, .800 fine silver, .600 troy oz ASW.
