This specimen was lot 23761 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $977.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth II Dollar 1957 FWL, MS65 PCGS, very few graded in this select quality." This type, struck at Ottawa 1953-63, is common in all grades but is scarce in unblemished condition. The use of chrome plated dies gave a polished appearance to the coins which in turn magnified the detractive effects of bagmarks. Varieties exist in the number of water lines visible to the right of the canoe on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: 496,389.

Specification: 23.32 g, .800 fine silver, .600 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 54.
