This specimen was lot 20237 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[2] noted, "George VI 50 Cents 1945, MS65 ICCS Remick Collection, a choice and fully original piece with rich gray and russet toning. Very scarce in this elite designation." This type was struck 1937-47 with the wartime issues of 1940-45 being the most common. Silver was removed from the fifty cent piece in 1968.

Recorded mintage: 1,959,528.

Specification: 11.66 g, .800 fine silver, .300 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, 29.72 mm diameter, designed by G. E. Kruger-Gray.
