This specimen was lot 23240 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Specimen 5 Cents 1927, Specimen 65 PCGS, a superb example with razor sharp details and subtle gray patina. Highly attractive and rare as a Specimen." The type was struck 1922-36 (superseding a silver coin similar to the half dime) and is common in circulated condition. This date is common up thru MS-60.

Recorded mintage: 5,285,627.

Specification: nickel, 21.2 mm diameter.
