This specimen was lot 23254 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V gold 5 Dollars 1913, MS65 NGC. A stunning example, with bold definition, brilliant golden luster, and only minuscule marks. Very rare in this Gem condition and the single example certified in this condition by NGC, with none finer." The type was struck in Ottawa 1912-14.

Recorded mintage: 98,832.

Specification: 8.35 g, .900 fine gold, .241 troy oz AGW, reeded edge.
