This specimen was lot 24114 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria 50 Cents 1900, AU58 NGC, a very nice Victoria Half Dollar with flashy mint luster and sharply struck details. The surfaces display some typical small contact marks, but this is an attractive coin and quite close to mint state." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1870-1901. This date is scarce above Fine.

Recorded mintage: 118,000.

Specification: 11.66 g, .925 fine silver, .300 troy oz ASW.
