This specimen was lot 24281 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description noted, "Victoria Cent 1900, MS65 Red and Brown NGC. A mixture of both brown and red that creates a dramatic, three-dimensional portrait. A most excellent grade for this significantly rare, no "H" variety, absolutely worthy of a strong bid." This type was struck 1870-1901 in large quantities and is readily available in grades up to brown Uncirculated. This is a common date.
