This specimen was lot 1631 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €360 (about US$485 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1765, G, Günzburg. Fast vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, convention half thaler of 1765, Gunzburg mint. about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1764-65 in the Austrian enclave of Burgau near Augsburg. It was accompanied by a thaler (Dav-1147). Napoleon seized the territory and handed it over to Bavaria about 1806.
