Sincona sale 26, lot 2638
This specimen was lot 2638 in Sincona sale 26 (Zurich, October 2015), where it sold for 1,750 CHF (about US$2,162 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Karl, 1815-1830 10 Taler 1818. Braunschweig Gutes sehr schön. Leicht justiert im Avers. (Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles, 1815-30, ten thaler of 1818, Brunswick mint, good very fine. Light adjustment marks on the obverse.)"
This type was issued in small quantities 1817-19 along with a gold 2½ (KM 1072) and five thaler (KM 1073). The last ten thaler was struck in 1857.

Specification: 13.30 g, .900 fine gold, this specimen 13.22 g.
