This specimen was lot 70550 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. 1/6 Taler, 1757-ACB. Karl I (1735-80). PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. A few adjustment marks on the obverse mentioned for accuracy. Lightly toned with a nice cartwheel effect. A handsome high grade example sure to please." This type was struck 1747-48, 1751-59 and is fairly common. Concurrent with this was a "wild man" six mariengroschen. Both were worth one quarter gulden.
