This specimen was lot 3800 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,047 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, Rudolf August und Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704. Reichstaler 1688, Goslar oder Zellerfeld. Eintrachtstaler. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Rudolf Augustus and Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704, thaler of 1688, Goslar or Zellerfeld mint. Rare in this condition, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
Unlike many thalers from this state, this one year type is rare. Other thalers from 1688 include Dav-6393A and the very similar Dav-6395.
