Kunker sale 263, lot 753
This specimen was lot 753 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €320 (about US$413 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. Reichstaler 1649, Zellerfeld. Feine Patina, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, August the Younger, 1635-66, thaler of 1649, Zellerfeld mint, fine patina, choice extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1647-50 and is very similar to Dav-6338 (struck 1639-48), Dav-6346 (struck 1638-39) and Dav-6347 (struck 1639-46), all common.
