(Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Henry Julius (1589-1613), thaler of 1600, Goslar mint, choice extremely fine.)"This specimen is a product of the Goslar mint which was operated by mintmaster Heinrich Oeckeler who also worked at the Zellerfeld mint. This type is recorded for both mints. It was issued 1600-13 and is common. The "wild man" design was popular in Brunswick and Hannover at the time and appeared on many different thalers.
