Shown is a billon (base silver) 2000 réis of the United States of Brazil, of a type struck 1924-34. Subsequent types struck 1936-42 were aluminum bronze such as the Duque de Caxias commemorative. The SCWC prices all the dates the same but only the 1924 is common in nice condition. The denomination was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.

Recorded mintage: 1,008,999.

Specification: 7.9 g, .500 fine silver, .126 troy oz ASW.
