Shown is a copper-nickel fifty réis of the United States of Brazil. This is the regular issue, struck 1918-22, 1925-26, 1931 and 1935. Unlike the larger hundred and four hundred réis, this denomination was not used for the series of commemoratives issued during the thirties.

Recorded mintage: 176,000, a slightly better date but not expensive.

Specification: 3.08 g, copper-nickel, 17.3 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 517.
