Brazil 1912 500 reis KM-509
Shown is a five hundred réis of the United States of Brazil, of a type struck 1912 only. It was accompanied by similar 1000 réis (KM 510) and 2000 réis. The prior type, with a plain reverse, was also struck in 1912 but is scarce. The denomination was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.
