Shown is a 1000 réis of the United States of Brazil, of a type struck 1906-12. It was accompanied by similar 500 réis and 2000 réis. Despite being the lowest mintage date, it is not accorded a premium. The denomination was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.
