Brazil 1855 5000 reis
This specimen is one of a series struck 1854-59 at the Rio de Janeiro mint during the reign of Pedro II (1831-1889). This denomination is much scarcer than the contemporary 10000 réis and 20000 réis but is priced less. Only the 1854, 1855 and 1856 are collectible, the later dates are very rare.
