This specimen was lot 23950 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description noted, "João VI Prince Regent gold 6400 Reis 1813-R, MS63 NGC. Frosty with beautiful wide rims. Strong strike. Interesting large digit '3' on the date. Scarcer date. From The RLM Collection, Part II." The type was struck 1805-17 with the portrait of João as Prince Regent (he later became king João VI).
