This specimen was lot 23901 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I gold 6400 Reis 1799-B, AU Details - Reverse Scratched NGC. Nearly fully detailed and moderately abraded throughout with a set of pinscratches along the milling at 2 o'clock on the reverse that stand out above the rest. From The RLM Collection, Part II." The peça or 6400 réis was the most common gold denomination with its fractions being much scarcer.
