This specimen was lot 23799 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1760-B, AU Details - Reverse Scratched NGC. Lightly hairlined in the fields with several pinscratches in the upper right reverse fields. From The RLM Collection, Part II." This type was struck 1751-77 from Rio and Bahia (shown here) and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.
