This specimen was lot 283 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,112.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. 6,400 Reis (Peça), 1759-B. NGC MS-65. Jose I (1750-77)." The type was struck in Bahia and Rio 1751-77. The Bahia mint issues are generally scarcer than the Rio issues.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 14.34 g, .917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW.
