This specimen was lot 23639 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $18,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 6400 Reis 1746B, MS64 NGC, an eye-popping specimen with full mint brilliance and exceptional eye appeal. The details are bold on both sides and there are no adjustment marks or other flaws. Very rare in this incredible grade. From The H.R. Collection of Brazilian Gold Gems." This type was struck 1732-50 from Bahia and Rio.
