This specimen was lot 23195 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $11,750. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 6400 Reis 1735-B, AU Details NGC, surface hairlines. Hints of luster mostly around the legends. Choice reverse for this early and key date of João V's 6400 Reis issue. From The RLM Collection." This type was struck 1731-50 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil tho the early dates are rare.
