This specimen was lot 23236 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $8,225. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V 1000 Reis 1725-M, XF Details NGC, Rim damage at 4 o'clock on the reverse by the letters "CE" of "VINCES". The obverse is choice XF with minor hints of luster. Very choice for the type. From The RLM Collection." This type was struck at the Minas Gerais mint 1724-27 and at Bahia (KM 104) and at Rio 1708 and 1726.
