This specimen was lot 29102 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 1000 Reis 1725-B AU55 NGC, Bahia mint, An attractive specimen, with only slight wear on the higher points, clean surfaces and significant subdued luster. A very scarce type, seldom encountered and conditionally rare in this engaging and unflawed preservation. From The Santa Catarina Collection of Brazilian Gold Coins." This type was struck at the Minas Gerais mint 1724-27 and at Bahia (KM 104) and at Rio 1708 and 1726.
